New Mexico libraries celebrate National Library Week

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – As people continue to move toward electronics to get information, many people are taking time this week to celebrate the use of libraries. The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs is celebrating National Library Week, which runs Sunday through Saturday.

The state library system supports more than 100 public library systems and public libraries, as well as 23 public tribal libraries throughout New Mexico. According to the Department of Cultural Affairs, there were more than 4.7 million visits to New Mexico public libraries, 12 million items circulated, and nearly 29,000 programs offered to half a million people.
The department is also inviting the public to celebrate National Library Week by visiting their local library, using online resources, or by attending a program. ...read more read less
