ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A local nonprofit in the east mountains took their efforts to Albuquerque on Sunday, looking to find forever homes for some puppies. The East Mountain Companion Animal Project partnered with Two Cranes to host Puppy Yoga as well as an adoption event.
The project says
they normally get puppies from community members when they're abandoned or from shelters when they need to euthanize. Those with the project say there is an animal control problem, and they try to do what they can to help.
Albuquerque nonprofit vandalized for fourth time
"If somebody has an accidental litter, we'll check all the puppies, get them vetted, find them homes, and we'll pay for the mo to be fixed," says Keenan Foster with the East Mountain Companion Animal Project. "We'll also do food banks in the community for people who can't afford dog food. We do low-cost spay and neuter clinics, pretty much anything we can to help these animals find good homes and also keep animals, people who are having trouble, keep their animals in their homes."
The Animal Project says they try to do adoption events several times a month and puppy yoga once a month. ...read more read less
