Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basicall y say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much. Tonight’s contest in Portland is a game that the upper management at both organizations would prefer to lose, but the game is played by the players, who are going to play hard tonight and try to have superior performances as young guys look forward to making a place for themselves next season and veterans like Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes continue to work on their legacies. Some of these players won’t be on the same teams next year, but you can be sure that they all care about how well they play tonight. The Silver and Black are coming off one of the most entertaining games of the season, where Harrison Barnes had a solid chance of breaking the Cavaliers’ hearts with a last second midrange shot to win the game, but it was not to be as the ball bounced out as time expired. The same Spurs players are available tonight with Jeremy Sochan continuing to sit with back soreness. The Trail Blazers will be missing the services of quite a few players tonight, notably Scoot Henderson with concussion protocol. Deni Avdija, Anfernee Simons, and Jerami Grant are all questionable, along with Sidy Cissoko. I hope Sidy plays, because while his game is raw, it’s always entertaining. As always, keep an eye on Stephon Castle, who is guaranteed to do something amazing at least once each quarter. With just five games left to play, we’re running out of time to watch Castle play as a rookie, so enjoy the moments while they last. Go, Spurs Go! But not too hard. Game Prediction: Mamu will be benched for hitting 6 three point shots in a row, endangering the Spurs scheduled loss. One final word: GO SPURS GOOOO!!!
