Springfield man charged for DUI following crash in Vermont

Killington, VT. (WWLP) - A Springfield man was arrested and charged with DUI on Saturday after crashing his vehicle in Vermont.

Vermont State Police said that at approximately 7:04 p.m. on Saturday, troo
pers received a report of a single vehicle crash on Bear Mountain Road in Killington. Police approached the vehicle to speak with the operator, identified as 58-year-old Joseph Giannetti of Springfield, Mass., and observed signs of impairment.

Police said that when asked to perform roadside Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Giannetti refused. He was then arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Giannetti was brought to Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing and released on a citation. He is scheduled to appear in Rutland County Superior Court on April 21 to answer for the charge of DUI.
