MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The city of Memphis had one of its wettest days ever recorded, per the National Weather Service.
In a social media post from the National Weather Service, they announced that 5.47 inches of rain fell at Memphis International Airport on Saturday.
According to their data, that
marked the wettest day ever recorded in April in Memphis. Their records date back to 1872.
The National Weather Service also provided more rainfall totals (as of 1 a.m. on Sunday) from around the Mid-South after four consecutive days of severe storms:
NWS Memphis (East Memphis): 14.07 inches
Memphis International: 12.35 inches
West Memphis: 10.00 inches
Jonesboro: 8.75 inches
Blytheville: 8.41 inches
Tupelo: 2.66 inches
On Sunday, the National Weather Service sounded an "all clear" for severe weather in the Mid-South.
However, flooding is expected to continue as water funnels through rivers and streams.
