'She is a fighter': Family seeks aid as Dinuba mother recovers from murdersuicide attempt

DINUBA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The family of a mother left in critical condition after an attempted murder-suicide in Dinuba on Tuesday is asking for the community's help.
Dinuba Police say Tuesday evening they responded to the 900 block of Gardenia Avenue for reports of a man threatening his girlf
riend with a gun.

When they arrived, officers reported a 28-year-old woman, identified by her sister as Jackie Espinoza, collapsed in the front yard, suffering from two gunshot wounds to the chest. She was immediately transported to a local hospital where she remains in critical, but stable condition.

Detectives say they eventually found 26-year-old Jesus Murillo inside the home, dead with a gunshot wound to his chest. A gun was found on the ground nearby.
Mayra Espinoza says her sister Jackie will have to be hospitalized for a while as the gunshot wounds damaged her internal organs, forcing her to undergo surgeries. Espinoza is determined her sister will persevere as Jackie has two children, ages 3 and 7, to return to.
