ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Community members gathered for a different kind of walk on Saturday, looking to raise awareness for two medical conditions. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation hosted the Take Steps Walk at Johnson Field at UNM. National Hispanic Cultural Center hosts 32nd Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta March Organizers were looking to raise awareness and funding for Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis, which the organization says impacts more than 3 million Americans. "We have better treatments every day, and that's why we try and raise funds for better research, and we want to eventually find a cure for this disease," says Razan Alkhouri, MD, UNM Associate Professor of pediatrics gastroenterology.
