AUSTIN (KXAN) — New Texas men's basketball coach Sean Miller has to reconstruct the Longhorns' roster after their 19-16 season, and he's off to a pretty good start. Miller has treaded lightly in the transfer portal but has plenty of time to add more pieces before the window closes April 22. He brought forward Dailyn Swain with him from Xavier and recently landed another forward, Camden Heide from Purdue. Devon Pryor is headed out of Austin to join the Oregon Ducks. The Texas men's basketball account on X began releasing announcements of players who would return to the program April 2, starting with freshman guard Nic Codie. Tramon Mark, a transfer from Arkansas who played some of his best ball near the end of the season, is utilizing a medical redshirt from his days at Houston to return. He posted on X that he was undergoing surgery April 3 but was not specific on what was being repaired. WOMEN'S FINAL FOUR: Bad quarter bites Texas Longhorns again, South Carolina moves to national title game 74-57 Junior guard Jordan Pope, who transferred from Oregon State before the season, also said he would return. Perhaps the biggest re-recruitment the Longhorns have is junior guard Chendall Weaver. He missed a portion of the season with a hip/groin injury and returned to the court a game before the Southeastern Conference tournament, helping the Longhorns win a pair of games and clinching a berth in the NCAA Tournament with his high-effort, frenetic playing style. Texas lost its First Four game to Xavier, coached by Miller, 86-80 on March 19. Miller takes over for Rodney Terry, who was fired four days after the loss.
