KState's Bernat wins Augusta National Women's Amateur

AUGUSTA, GA (KSNT) - K-State senior Carla Bernat is returning to Manhattan with some hardware.
The Castellon, Spain native won the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur at the home of The Masters tournament on Saturday. The first two rounds were played at Champions Retreat and the final at August

It was Bernat's third time competing in the event, and as she told 27 News in an interview three weeks ago, "People say third time's a charm."
Bernat shot 4-under 68 in the tournament's final round, giving her a finishing score of 12 under par. A two-putt on the 18th hole maintained her one-stroke lead over Asterisk Talley, who finished in second.
In 2022, Bernat missed the cut for the final round, shooting a total of 230 through the tournament. In 2024, she finished in a tie for 17th place, shooting a total of 219 through all three rounds. But in 2025, Bernat shot a 68 in all three rounds to keep herself toward the top of the scorecard and notch the winning total of 204 strokes. ...read more read less
