STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — The Georgia Southern Eagles hosted their annual spring football game Saturday.
The roster was separated into "Blue" and "White" teams, where the offense was on the white team and the defense on the blue team.
The game had a unique scoring system where defense could s
core points too. After four quarters, the White Team came out on top 48-31.
The quarterbacks shined in the win for the White Team. Starting quarterback J.C. French IV, Redshirt freshman Tyler Budge, and Head Coach Clay Helton's son, Turner Helton, all threw for over 120 yards with at least one touchdown and no turnovers.
Justin Meyers, Demarcious Robinson and Jacob Hammonds led the defense with six tackles each.
The Eagles' first regular season game will be on Aug. 30 against Fresno State. ...read more read less
