Two dead following separate Tangipahoa Parish crashes

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two people are dead following separate crashes that happened in Tangipahoa Parish on Friday, April 4.
According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop L began investigating the first crash, which happened on LA Highway 442 near Duhe Road, around 6 p.m
.
Troopers say 34-year-old Jonathan Shroeder, of Independence, was driving a 2007 Toyota Avalon east when for reasons being investigated, he ran off the right side of the road and hit multiple trees. He was unrestrained at the time and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Suspect wanted in Kentwood-area murder investigation
A toxicology sample was taken from Shroeder as part of the ongoing investigation.
The second crash, which happened on Interstate 55 near LA Highway 3234, was reported around 11 p.m.
The initial investigation shows that a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder was heading north on the interstate when 60-year-old William Traylor, a pedestrian, entered the road and was hit.
Traylor was pronounced dead on scene. The Nissan's driver was properly restrained and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Routine toxicology samples were taken from both individuals as part of the ongoing investigation.
