TOPEKA (KSNT) - One person is dead after an early morning crash in downtown Topeka. The Topeka Police Department (TPD) reports that around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 emergency responders learned a vehicle had driven off the I-70 overpass near Southwest 2nd Street and South Kansas Avenue. Poli ce say the driver went through a portion of the highway that was blocked off and under construction. Oklahoma man charged in killing of Kansas priest Medical personnel declared the driver of the vehicle dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in this incident. The identity of the driver has yet to be released. The TPD asks that anyone with information regarding this investigation send an email to telltpd@topeka.org or call 785-368-9400.
