Redlands’ LifeHouse Theater will present its musical comedy “Esther!,” based on the biblical book of Esther, opening 7 p.m. April 12 and running weekends through May 11. Wayne Scott, LifeHouse Theater’s founder and president, wrote the musical, which was first performed in 1989. Aaron Yañez is directing this year’s production, with Michael Milligan as choreographer, Jeremy Yeo as music director, Jacob Michel as set designer and Romana Ramirez, costume designer. In the cast are Denise Garcia as Esther, Jeremy Yeo as King Xerxes, Jacob Michel as Haman, Nick Diliberto as Mordecai, Luke Michel as Teresh, Julie Carlson as Queen Vashti and Marissa Wright as the Storyteller. After opening night, performances are 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. There is one Thursday performance, at 7 p.m. May 8. There is no performance on Easter Sunday, April 20, and no evening performance May 10, according to a news release.
