Providence Officials to host Summer Opportunities Event for Students Families

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence students and family members have an opportunity to get a head start on learning about summer opportunities within the city and school district.

nce Public Schools Superintendent Javier Montanez are hosting the EAT, PLAY, LEARN Summer Opportunities Fair today.
The event gives students and family members the chance to get details and pre-register for summer programs, camps, jobs and other important resources being offered by the program.
“The Summer Opportunities Fair provides the chance for families to connect with the Recreation Department and community organizations that support our students year-round,” said Mayor Smiley in a press release ahead of the fair.
Providence will be offering kids a chance to enroll in sports camps, day camps, and specialty boating and biking camps.
Today’s event will give families details on those camps and other programs. The fair starts at 10am and runs through noon at the Providence Career and Technical Academy located at 41 Fricker Street.
Sign-ups for all-day summer recreation camps start at $5 per week per child and registration opens online on Saturday, April 12th.
