Former Yukon private school principal arrested once for child pornography back in jail facing more charges

YUKON, Okla. (KFOR) — A former private school principal, arrested last month on for allegedly having explicit photos of minors, including one of his students, on his phone, is back in jail again this week facing additional charges and a much higher bond.

Canadian County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies first arrested Kevin Cobbs on March 25, after investigators discovered a nude photograph of a teenage boy in a hidden folder on Cobbs’ phone while executing a search warrant.
CCSO got the search warrant after receiving a tip about Cobbs from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
As News 4 reported, at the time of his arrest, Cobbs was working as a high school principal and baseball coach at Southwest Covenant, a private Christian school in Yukon.
As investigators searched deeper on Cobbs’ phone, they found an additional hidden folder with more explicit pictures of minors.
One of the minors in the pictures was one of Cobbs’ students at Southwest Covenant.

Deputies booked Cobbs into the Canadian County Jail later that day, on March 25, on possession of child pornography charges.
Cobbs posted his $25,000 bond and left the jail last week.
Southwest Covenant fired Cobbs last week.
At the time of Cobbs' arrest, Canadian County Sheriff Chris West told News 4 that CCSO investigators were still digging through Cobbs’ devices and would likely find evidence to bring additional charges.
“This investigation really isn’t over,” West said on March 26. “We have these electronic devices that we’re gonna run forensic examinations on, and there’s some other information that we were able to obtain from Mr. Cobbs that we’re gonna go ahead and pursue.”
On Thursday, deputies arrested Cobbs again, booking him into the Canadian County Jail on an additional charge of buying, procuring, or possessing child pornography and a charge of “using photographic, electronic or video equipment in clandestine manner.”

The Canadian County Court Clerk’s Office did not have arresting documents containing the specific accusations available to share as of Friday afternoon.
On Friday, the CCSO investigator handling the case told News 4 that CCSO found “enough probable cause for an additional charge using recording equipment in a clandestine manner.”
News 4 has filed a public records request with CCSO seeking additional information.
Cobbs was still in the Canadian County Jail with an increased bond of $250,000 as of Friday evening. ...read more read less
