INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A FLOOD WATCH is in place until Sunday morning. Soaking rainfall will continue through this weekend, leading to more concerns.
TODAY: Scattered showers this morning are expected, with more breaks in the action. Widespread showers move back in
this afternoon and evening. SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED, but flooding is a huge concern this weekend. Rubmles of thunder also can’t be ruled out, despite no severe weather. Indianapolis has gotten over 4″ since Wednesday. High temperatures in the low 60s.
TONIGHT: Showers are likely. Rumbles of thunder are also on the table with this soaking rain. Low temperatures around 40 degrees.
TOMORROW: Scattered showers will be around for the morning, with rain backing off in the late afternoon and evening hours. We can’t rule out some ice pellets or sleet mixing in at times in very isolated spots. High temperatures in the mid-40s.
RAINFALL NUMBERS: Along I-70, we could pick up an additional 1″-2″ of rain Saturday into Sunday. Higher amounts of 2″-4″ can be expected for most from a stretch of Bloomington-Shelbyville and southward.
7-DAY FORECAST: No signs of soaking rainfall with quiet weather finally moving in to start off the work week, with temperatures hovering near 50 degrees. A small rain chance enters the forecast on Wednesday, but the best chance of rain this week is Thursday.
