LEMON GROVE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 77-year-old man was killed in a crash Friday in Lemon Grove. The collision occurred around 5:07 a.m. on westbound State Route 94, just east of Massachusetts Avenue, Officer Jasmine Lopez with California Highway Patrol said in a news release. The 77-year-ol d man of Spring Valley was driving a 1999 Ford Expedition when for unknown reasons he drove to the left across traffic lanes and crashed into a Ford F-150 driven by a 23-year-old man of El Cajon, according to authorities. The crash caused the Ford Expedition to overturn on the roadway, while the F-150 was sent over the center divider concrete wall and came to a rest on State Route 94 eastbound. The 77-year-old man was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the hospital due to his injuries. The driver of the F-150 was not hurt.
