CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A structure fire in Chicopee Friday evening caused the temporary closure of Sergeant Street. According to the Chicopee Police Department, as of 10:15 p.m., crews are actively working to put out a structure fire, which has closed off Sergeant Street. When 22News crews arri ved, two units at the complex were damaged. Officials are asking motorists to avoid the area while crews work to extinguish the fire. No information has yet been released regarding the cause of the fire, potential injuries, or the extent of the damage.
