Investigators reportedly identified "Elder Basquez" as a suspect in the case, later discovering that the suspect was actually now-41-year-old Elder Vasquez.
Vasquez had reportedly received illegal images through WhatsApp. Officials say they found thousands of photographs and videos of a sexual nature on Vasquez's cell phone, most of which showed youths in an unknown exact age range. Jurors, however, were shown nine pictures and three videos that showed victims clearly under 13 years old.
The jury deliberated for under an hour before declaring Vasquez guilty of two counts of possession of pornography depicting children under age 13. His sentencing is scheduled for May 1.
