MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Five people are reportedly dead after severe storms, including a tornado, tore through McNairy County this week. Friday evening, the Selmer Police Department and the Town of Selmer posted new details regarding deaths in town and the county. Tornado claims life of fath er, daughter in Fayette County According to a release posted by officials, three people have been reported dead in the Town of Selmer. All of the deaths are said to have occurred on New Bethel Road. The release states that two more people were reported dead in McNairy County, with one fatality occurring on New Bethel Road and the other occurring on Friendship Road. According to the release, 14 people across McNairy County were taken to local hospitals. Numerous other residents reportedly went to clinics for treatment after suffering weather-related injuries.
