Austin Trout beats Carlos TrinidadSnake, retains BKFC welterweight title

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Las Cruces native Austin Trout fought his way to a split-decision win over previously undefeated Carlos Trinidad-Snake at BKFC 71 in The United Arab Emirates.

Trout defended his BKFC welterweight title for a second time and improved to 4-0 with the victory on Friday.

Trout was dropped in the first round of the fight but ended up fighting his way to a split-decision victory. After five rounds, the bout ended as a draw which led to an overtime round in order to decide a winner. After the six-round bout, two judges scored it in favor of Trout (57-56, 58-55) and one had it 58-55 for Trinidad-Snake.
