MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - When driving in rural areas, drivers should expect many things, including cattle, crossing the road. According to California Highway Patrol, an officer recently encountered and assisted with a "cattle crossing" in Merced County. In pictures posted by CHP Mer ced, traffic was backed up by the "cattle crossing." CHP says the cattle crossing is a good reminder of the variety of traffic conditions motorists may encounter. Officers add that when driving through rural areas, remain alert for slow-moving vehicles, livestock and other unexpected obstacles.
