EDGEWOOD, N.M. (KRQE) – A local jeweler wants to pay homage to the community she was raised in by helping a rescue get more horses adopted. She's giving adopters a keepsake token. “All of these rescue animals have so much love to give, and they need a place to do that. They need people who care
about them,” said Lexi Boese, Owner of Saddle and Stone.

Boese’s jewelry company launched about a month ago. She creates equestrian-inspired jewelry, from a horseshoe ring to a bracelet that looks like a bit. Boese designed the line herself.
She grew up around horses and recently partnered with Walkin N Circles Ranch, a local horse rescue. Boese said it’s a way for her to help a community that raised her. She created what she calls 'Horse of the Hour,' which means whoever adopts the selected horse, gets a free horseshoe necklace from her line. She said it’s an effort to honor the bond between horse and human.
The first horse to be featured at the ranch is a gelding named Indiana. ”Indiana came to us. It was an owner surrender. He's 3 years old. He's got a lot to learn as we teach him how to be a good horse for the right owner,” said Executive Director Mark Preiss, Walkin N Circles Ranch.
The horse rescue is dedicated to rehabilitating, training, and finding homes for horses who were abandoned or abused. The ranch not only teaches volunteers how to care for horses, but also how to train them. “We're here to give those horses a second chance, also giving people the opportunity to learn to do this work,” said Preiss.
Boese added that her company is a love letter to the horse community, and she hopes this partnership will have a big impact. “We can as a community come together and we can help. You can't rescue a hundred horses at once but if you can rescue one, you can make a difference. That is so impactful,” said Boese.
