ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque is fighting back against the Trump Administration's federal cuts. The city launched Defend ABQ, an online dashboard that helps city officials and the community track programs impacted or at risk of being impacted by the roughly $200 million cuts

University of New Mexico road closures, parking restrictions ahead of weekend events
Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller said some programs affected include law enforcement, early childhood education, affordable housing, and even outdoor recreation. "The reason that this is important is, has nothing to do with who the president is. It's about what a president is doing to our city. And people need to know why, for example, they're not getting their senior meals. Or why we won't have the database access to actually catch criminals in our city. Those are all federally funding things, said Keller.
Keller said Defend ABQ will help them decide how to address critical funding losses in the city, including legal actions, creating flexible funding, and offering grants. ...read more read less
