High school student charged as adult in Anne Arundel County shooting, officials say

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A 17-year-old high school student is being charged as an adult in connection to a shooting that happened in Anne Arundel County last month, according to police.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said that on March 17, around 4:20 p.m., officers w
ent to the Crain Highway and Crain Court Circle area for reports of a shooting.
Once on the scene, witnesses told police that a person dressed in all black walked out of the apartment complex and began shooting at three people along Crian Highway. Witnesses said the three people ran across the highway and toward Thelma Avenue.
Montgomery County high school under shelter-in-place due to shots fired
Police searched the area but were not able to find any victims.
With help from school resource officers at Glen Burnie High School, detectives arrested and charged the 17-year-old on March 28 in connection with the shooting.
Anne Arundel County police also executed a search warrant at the teen's home, where they found evidence, along with multiple guns and a large amount of drugs.
