Shelterinplace lifted at Montgomery County high school

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Students, faculty and staff at a high school in Montgomery County were sheltering in place due to gunshots reportedly being fired in the area on Friday.
In a post made on social media just before 12:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD)
said officers were investigating shots fired in the 10300 block of Apple Ridge Road.

As a precaution, nearby Watkins Mill High School was under a shelter-in-place order.
MCPD said they received a call about shots fired just after 11:15 a.m. As of 12:45 p.m., officers had not found any suspects or victims in the area.
After not finding any evidence of a shooting in the area, Watkins Mill High School lifted its shelter-in-place. ...read more read less
