WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A southeast Kansas woman was killed in a crash on Thursday. It happened around 8 a.m. on U.S. Highway 169 in Neosho County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a Nissan Kicks was traveling northbound when it veered into the other lane. Troopers say a southbound GMC Sierra pickup
tried to avoid the collision but could not. Both collided head-on.
The driver of the Kicks, 55-year-old Janee M. Umbarger, of Chanute, was killed. The 76-year-old driver of the pickup suffered a minor injury and was taken to a Neosho hospital.

The KHP says the Nissan driver was wearing her seatbelt. The pickup driver wasn't.
