Local College Notebook: TCNJ’s Beth Evaldi, a Hun School product, solidified herself as NJAC’s top diver
Apr 04, 2025
There was great anticipation when the season started for Beth Evaldi as The College of New Jersey junior was looking to add to her diving repertoire.
The anticipation was met with confidence, and Evaldi once again had an amazing year on the 1-meter and 3-meter board for the Lions.
The year was so im
pressive she was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Diver of the Year for the second straight season.
“This means a lot even more than last year,’’ said Evaldi, a Ewing native who attended the Hun School. “I really put in a lot of work to get some new dives that I never thought was possible. Then getting to compete those dives and see all the physical and mental work payoff is definitely an amazing feeling.’’
A three-year All-NJAC diver, Evaldi swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the NJAC Championships. She accumulated a meet-record 399.20 points on the 3-meter board, which was among the top 20 scores in NCAA Division III this season.
“It was a satisfying year,’’ Evaldi stated. “But, there’s some unfinished business at the regionals. It was a year of breaking through boundaries on a lot of my dives. My list really changed from last year and this was about pushing through fears.’’
Evaldi brought a ton of confidence to the board, and the new dives were becoming routine.
“When I got to do them for the first time I was ecstatic and emotional especially with my team,’’ admitted Evaldi. “Overall, I was glad I could do it. I want to keep pushing with harder dives and even bigger ambitions next year.’’
She also earned 394.65 points on the 1-meter board to rank among the nation’s top 30 and is currently the NJAC championship meet record holder in that event as well.
Evaldi placed 10th overall on the 1-meter board and 11th on the 3-meter board at the NCAA Diving Regional to wrap up her junior season.
