Local builder Dardel Properties specializes in co
nstructing new homes throughout Old Metairie and Covington, and in this week’s Commission Accomplished, one of the company’s most recent custom-built homes sold for more than $4.3 million.
A new luxury home at 168 E. Oakridge Park, off Metairie Road and near Pontiff Playground, sold for its listing price of $4,325,000 on March 25.
“Oakridge is truly a one-of-a-kind property. What sets this property apart is that it was custom built for and by Dardel Properties, and therefore no detail was overlooked,” said Julie Varisco, realtor with Prieur Properties and the sales agent on the transaction. “It has every imaginable bell and whistle; it is the next level of custom detail that makes this property truly unique.”
The Metairie home features 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and 6,186 square feet of living space.
The front yard includes a large garden area, fronted by plants that extend the length of the house. There is a driveway leading to the garage, and there are three large windows as high as the door.
Upon entering the interior, the foyer has a staircase to the immediate right leading to the second floor. A chef’s kitchen, with an island, wine rack, and top-of-the-line appliances, opens onto the covered patio and backyard. The professionally landscaped backyard features a pool, outdoor kitchen, and two spacious outdoor rooms of seating with a TV and entertainment area.
The downstairs has an open floor plan with spacious, formal living and dining areas. The formal area features an intricate plaster fluted ceiling with a mural wall covering. A sliding glass door wall opens onto a “dreamy side courtyard with fountains, a daybed niche, and pergola complete with bougainvillea,” says Varisco.
