MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Six people were injured and nearly 80 homes were damaged in North Mississippi by powerful storms Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency released its official damage report for seven affected counties Friday.

A shelter is open for survivors in Marshall County at Hudsonville C.M.E Church, 778 S. Slayden Road, in Lamar. The American Red Cross is feeding survivors at Slayden Baptist Church, 2535 Highway 72, Lamar.
Recovery efforts underway after severe storms in Grand Junction, TN
MEMA has filled requests for 4,000 bottles of water, 500 meals and 250 tarps. The state extension service is working with the County Cattleman’s Association in Desoto County to assist cattle producers in Tate County to relocate cattle due to downed and destroyed fencing.
