Lincoln Man Loses Thousands of Dollars in Cryptocurrency Scam

Lancaster County Sheriff's Office badge. (Photo credit to Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 4)–Between October and this past Wednesday, a 40-year-old Lincoln man that invested money into what turned out to be a cryptocurrency scam is out $48,000.
According to Lancaster County Chief Deputy
Sheriff Ben Houchin, the victim said his investment was worth $89,000. When the man tried to withdraw money, the scammer told him he needed $6,000 in order to do it. Houchin said that’s when the victim realized he was being scammed.
Houchin believes nearly $250,000 has been reported lost to scams in Lancaster County so far this year — not including cases reported to the Lincoln Police Department. ...read more read less
