In the early morning hours of March 31, deputies with the Henry County Sheriff's Department responded to a home on Railroad Street after they were advised that a missing juvenile may be at the address with Mayo, a registered sex offender.
When law enforcement responded to the address, a man, later identified as Mayo, reportedly opened the door, saw deputies on his porch and "immediately closed the door." The court documents said that Mayo eventually came outside and asked deputies why they were at his home.
After telling Mayo that they were looking for the missing juvenile out of Delaware County, Mayo reportedly told officers that no one was inside his home. When deputies said they heard him speaking with someone, Mayo reportedly said his friend was inside the home but "no juvenile."

Mayo then told the deputies to leave his property because he was about to leave as well. Eventually, deputies attempted to detain Mayo, who then reportedly "squared his body up." Mayo reportedly yelled "get your hands off of me" as deputies attempted to place him in handcuffs.
Mayo reportedly continued to resist law enforcement by tensing up and pulling away from the deputies. Mayo then reportedly yelled out the name of the missing juvenile and told them to "get outside." A person, who officials later identified as the missing juvenile, then reportedly came outside the home.
Mayo reportedly continued to pull away from the deputies as they were attempting to place him inside the patrol vehicle. The documents said that Mayo was eventually placed in the vehicle by deputies.
The missing juvenile was reportedly transported to the Delaware County line, where deputies from the Delaware County Sheriff's Department met them. The documents said that the Department of Child Services was contacted.
The court documents state that Mayo's pretrial conference is scheduled for June 9 and his jury trial is scheduled for July 9. ...read more read less
