Apr 04, 2025
WILLISTON, ND (KXNET) — Three students in Williston have been arrested and charged for allegedly putting out a "hit list" Tuesday, April 1, with the names of other students they were looking to harm.
According to a note sent to parents from the Williston Basin School District, "Two WHS students
and one student who is homeschooled are considered to have created the list. WHS administration took immediate action to address the situation, including involving law enforcement. The situation was managed according to our safety protocols, and disciplinary action will be taken in line with district policies and procedures."
The district said parents or guardians of the students whose names appeared on the list were contacted by Williston High School administration.
"We understand that incidents like this can cause concern, and we are committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment," district officials said in the note to parents. "Any behavior that poses a safety risk is treated seriously and will not be tolerated."
Williston police say the three students have been charged, but they wouldn't say what those charges are because the case is still under investigation and it involves minors. The three are currently being held at a juvenile detention facility.
Parents having questions regarding the incident ae asked to contact Williston High School Principal Audrey Larson at audrey.larson@willistonschools.org.
