Bismarck man already out on bond for terrorizing arrested Friday on the same offense

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A Bismarck man was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of terrorizing — the same charge he had been out on bond for an incident in Mandan 12 days earlier.
According to the Bismarck Police, officers responded to a report of terrorizing in the area of 1100 Summit Bo
ulevard around 11:00 p.m. Thursday.
Two residents told police 43-year-old Dustin John Ward approached them holding a knife in a manner that placed them in fear for their lives.
On March 24, according to court records, Ward was released from jail on bond in an incident in Mandan where he is alleged to have also terrorized individuals with a firearm.
In addition to the recent terrorizing, Ward has a lengthy criminal history in North Dakota.
As a result, West Dakota SWAT was called in to arrest him, due to his criminal history and recent terrorizing arrest, and to ensure public safety and the safety of the officers involved.

Ward was taken into custody on the arrest warrant around 3:10 a.m. Friday, April 4.
He is being held in the Burleigh Morton Detention Center and has been charged with Terrorizing - With A Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine -2nd Offense, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 2nd Offense, all Class C Felonies.
