ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Brief high pressure over the Great Lakes is giving us some sunshine for your first Friday of April. We are not nearly as warm as we were yesterday, but it is still a decent day with the partial clearing. There is a long stationary front just to our south across Pennsylvania, b ut it should stay there for today. The boundary migrates northward tonight and into early Saturday, bringing rain through the first half of the weekend. It could be a real soaker at times with some isolated thunderstorms embedded within the front. The flood threat is low, but some low-lying areas could pick up on enough rain to cause issues along creeks and streams. 8-Day Forecast There will be a break time in the afternoon before another wave overnight into early Sunday. This should be the last of it as the entire system kicks east. It would be nice if some warmer air then comes in after this, but it's not the case. We get stuck with a north flow that will pull in a blast of cold that plagues us for most of next week. That cold could even include snow showers Tuesday and Wednesday. ...read more read less
