[1] APD: Walmart shooting investigated as potential justifiable homicide - APD said a fatal shooting outside Walmart near Coors and I-40 is being investigated as a possible justifiable homicide. APD said the shooting started as a road rage incident on I-40. They say a black Dodge Charger driven by Terrance Lowe and a white pickup, driven by Angelino Gonzales parked at the Walmart. Gonzales' father and brother were following in a different vehicle. Officers said Lowe got into an argument with Gonzales, when Terrence's brother, Kendall Lowe, showed up in a fourth vehicle. Police say Kendall had a gun and fired it toward the Gonzales family. Terrence then allegedly got into his Charger and sped towards the men, pinning Gonzales and his dad against a truck. Police say Gonzales' brother grabbed a gun and shot Terrence, who died from his injuries.
[2] Las Cruces consultant group sued for allegedly defrauding veterans - New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez is suing a company after they were accused of defrauding Las Cruces veterans. According to the lawsuit, the company "Disabled Veterans Consultants Incorporated" allegedly violated the New Mexico unfair practices act. It states that veterans were required to pay large fees for benefits that are typically free. Veterans have paid the company for services are encouraged to reach out to the New Mexico Department of Justice.
[3] Rain, snow, and cooler temperatures move in through Saturday - Widespread rain showers have developed overnight across eastern New Mexico. This rain will stick around through this afternoon and evening, with a few thunderstorms possible. By this afternoon, isolated showers and thunderstorms along with mountain snow will develop in northern, western, and central New Mexico as well. Snow will spread southward in the early morning hours Saturday, reaching Albuquerque before sunrise, and even bringing snow to southeast New Mexico by the mid-morning hours.
[4] Plans fall through for basketball prep school in downtown ABQ theater building - A former downtown movie theater is up for sale after it was supposed to become a basketball prep school, but now the plans have fallen through. The old Century Theater at 1st and Central has been sitting vacant for four years. The city says it hopes whatever is brought to the spot will bring more people to the area.
