The Admiral has been rooting for the Blue Devils for a long time Spurs legend David Robinson welcomed the Duke Blue Devils to the Spurs practice facility. They are in town to prepare to compete in the NCAA Final Four, which is taking place at
the Alamodome this weekend.
Robinson’s son Justin was a member of the Blue Devils from 2016-2020. Robinson was seen watching the earlier rounds of March Madness. He’s been repping the university throughout their run for the title.
Duke is also the team of Cooper Flagg, the most sought after prospect of this summer’s NBA Draft.
The Alamodome last hosted the Final Four in 2018 when Villanova defeated the Michigan Wolverines. That Villanova team yielded NBA players Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, Mikal Bridges, Eric Paschall, Collin Gillespie, and Omari Spellman.
This the fifth time the NCAA Final Four has been housed at the Alamodome.
From 1993-2002, the Alamodome was home to the San Antonio Spurs. These were the years where Robinson was the Spurs marquee player. In 1997, Tim Duncan was drafted by the Spurs and Robinson had a twin tower partner in crime.
In the Spursiest of moves, The Admiral passed the torch to Big Fundamental and together, they ushered in the Silver & Black’s dynasty era.
The Final Four starts at 5:09 PM with the Florida Auburn game followed at 7:49 Pm with Houston facing Duke.
The two winners will meet Monday at 7:50 PM.
Do you have any predictions? Are you rooting for anyone in particular?
