Woman struck twice and killed on I71 in north Columbus identified

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A woman who was struck twice by two separate vehicles on Interstate 71 and later died has been identified.
Tania Irvin, 23, was involved in an accident on I-71 on the morning of March 30 near the East North Broadway exit, where she lost control of the vehicle and struck
the median wall. The vehicle was disabled and resting against the wall facing southbound.

She was struck by an unknown vehicle as she was walking in the northbound lane. That vehicle left the scene without stopping and as Irvin lay on the highway, she was struck by another vehicle, which also did not remain at the scene.
A Columbus Fire unit arrived at the crash site and pronounced Irvin dead at 3:33 a.m. Irvin's death was one of four that occurred overnight Sunday, which included three separate crashes.
The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, which remains ongoing.
