DERBY, Kan. (KSNW) — Police are investigating a shooting in Derby that left a woman critically injured Thursday night. It happened at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of S. Sharon Dr., near the intersection of South Rock Road and East 87th Street South. Upon arrival, officers wi th the Derby Police Department located a woman who had been shot. She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Shortly after, police located a car that matched the suspect's vehicle description. After a brief chase, officers took the suspect—a man in his 40s—into custody. Police believe this was a domestic incident and there is no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
