Theodore Roosevelt park to hold 3 events for National Park Week

NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — If you love nature and wildlife, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is hosting three events this month to celebrate National Park Week.
National Park Week is happening April 19 to April 27 this year at the North Dakota park. Entrance fees will be waived on April 19 to kick
off the celebration and encourage everyone to visit the park.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is hosting three events for people who like adventure, exploration, and nature. They are as follows:
Junior Ranger Day – April 19, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST
Kids can head over to Peaceful Valley Ranch in the South Unit to participate in hands-on activities, discover the wonders of nature, and earn their official Junior Ranger badge. This event offers families a chance to enjoy a day of learning and fun.
North Dakota Parks and Recreation opens applications for Recreational Trails Program
Guided Hike – April 20, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST
Join Ranger Peelee for a 4-mile round-trip adventure to the park’s only sandstone arch, offering incredible views along the way. Expect a moderate 2 to 2.5-hour hike. Meet at the Halliday Well Trailhead, located at Mile 7 on the South Unit Scenic Drive. Wear sturdyhiking boots, bring plenty of water, and dress for the weather.
Spring Clean-Up Day – April 26, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM MST
Help keep the park sparking clean by joining Spring Clean-Up Day. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate and help clear debris and clean the park for the season. Meet at the South Unit Visitor Center in Medora, ND. Park staff will provide gloves and garbage bags — just bring sturdy hiking boots, water, and weather-appropriate gear.
