Man fires at deputies serving eviction notice in Porterville, officials say

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man fired at deputies after an eviction notice was served at his Porterville home, the Tulare County Sheriff's Office says.
Deputies say they arrived at the home in the 600 Block of West Mulberry in Porterville on Thursday around 10:30 a.m. During the invest
igation, deputies say they learned that 43-year-old Kenneth Bratton, one of the men living at the home, had an arrest warrant.
While serving the notice, deputies attempted to take Bratton into custody. However, they say a fight ensued and Bratton pulled out a firearm and discharged one round.

Deputies were able to secure the firearm without injury; however, Bratton fled.
