Pockets Full of Sunshine baking cookies for race, with love

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) - It's an annual tradition combining running, golf, cookies and a whole lot of smiles.
For the seventh year in a row, the Rays from Pockets Full of Sunshine joined with USCB Hilton Head's Culinary Department to make their "peanut butter putter" cookies.
The char
ity's special recipe won the cookie contest at the RBC Heritage a few years ago and it has now become a tradition to give out to runners at the Plaid Nation 5K every year.
Everyone involved said the joy the Rays get from making the cookie is almost as good as eating them.
"We've baked with PGA pros in here," said Shawn Barth, USCB Professor of Hospitality. "The Rays won our original competition. It's just a good experience. Bring them here and work with our students. I think it gives everybody a perspective on the process, on what we do here, what the Rays do every day."
Angela McSwain from the RBC Heritage Tournament said, "I think that's one of the most unique things about the RBC Heritage is that even if you don't like golf. You are bound to like one of the charities that we help."
Since they first started baking with USCB, the Rays have made more than 20,000 cookies.
They told WSAV that each cookie has a secret ingredient, love.
