Here's what Pawtucket's new high school will look like

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Pawtucket residents now have a better idea of what the city's new unified high school will eventually look like.

In total, the $326-million high school will be eventually be home to approximately 2,100 students. It will also boast a brand new career and technical center and a "marketplace" for community engagement.

The city is currently home to two high schools — Shea and Tolman — which will eventually be united on the new 375,000-square-foot campus. The new unified high school will eventually be build on the property that used to house McCoy Stadium, which is in the process of being torn down.
"McCoy Stadium holds a special place in our community's history, filled with memories that will always be cherished," acting Superintendent Randy Buck said. "But soon, we will turn the page to a new chapter — one that ensures every student has access to a modern, innovative learning environment that prepares them for success in college, careers and beyond."
The city will officially break ground on the new high school next Thursday at 10 a.m.
"Breaking ground on the new Pawtucket High School marks an exciting and transformative moment for our school district," Buck said. "This project represents a bold investment in our students, our families, and the future of education in Pawtucket."
"The work we do today will shape the future of Pawtucket for generations to come," he continued.
