OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Officials broke ground for a new facility Thursday afternoon that will give families with kids getting critical medical care more options for a place to stay.
It’s a new Ronald McDonald House being built in northwest Oklahoma City. However, they need the public’s help
to get the project over the finish line.

"We're removing barriers, we're strengthening families, and we're promoting healing when children need health care,” President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities Oklahoma City Susan Adams said.
After over 40 years of providing a home away from home for families with children getting critical medical care, there’s a new place of sanctuary. This new and improved Ronald McDonald House will be on Memorial Road between Meridian Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. It will expand their services starting in the summer of 2026.

"It will serve families we're not able to serve from this location," Adams said.
The current Ronald McDonald House is near NE 13th Street and Phillips Avenue. It has 40 rooms that are conveniently close to OU Children’s Hospital. They also have a full kitchen where meals are served, laundry room areas and more. Adams said they served 27,000 families across Oklahoma for almost 14,000 nights of stay in 2024.
"We're nearly full every night and so sometimes we have a wait-list and that's why this new house is so important,” Adams said.

The new location will be 3 stories with 28 rooms and closer to Mercy’s NICU, the Love Family Women’s Center, INTEGRIS Hospital and Bethany Children’s Health Center. It’s a $17 Million project and they’ve raise $13 million so far while working on a $2 million challenge grant. However, they need matching dollars by raising $2 million of their own to get it.
"It will help thousands of families each year and save them over $1,000,000 in temporary living expenses,” Adams said.
