TATE COUNTY, Miss -- A Mississippi county is recovering from the tornado and damaging winds that came through Wednesday night. Trees are down everywhere on Oakdale Lane and nearby Peyton Road in Tate County some believe caused by a tornado, but all can agree the weather event was swift and damag ing. Coldwater, MS weather damage Coldwater, MS weather damage Coldwater, MS weather damage Coldwater, MS weather damage "We heard a wind and they kept on saying it was coming through, and we got in the bathroom stayed in there within less than three minutes we heard stuff hitting the roof and then it was gone," said David Tarywick, Coldwater resident. Tarywick found his trees down, a roof with holes in it, and his car had a broken windshield. Now he is focused on cleaning up and talking with insurance people. "Seen the trees go to twisting and swaying and I told my wife to get in the hallway about every room we have has a window in it, but we got in the hallway," said Coldwater resident, Brian Dhority. "We heard the wind start picking up gradually and it kept getting louder and louder, and that's when the tree fell onto the house and we jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom and got in the tub and prayed for safety," said Coldwater resident, Grant McMinn. ...read more read less
