INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was killed Thursday in a shooting on the city’s near-east side, Indianapolis police say. Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called at 7:29 p.m. Thursday to a report of a person shot and a gunshot scene in the 2000 block of East Washingto n Street. That’s in an area with homes and industries next to Willard Park, between State Avenue and Rural Street, on the city’s near-east side. Officers arrived to the the scene and found a man inside a U-Haul truck with gunshot wound injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe this was a targeted attack. The 911 caller told investigators they saw two male suspects running from the scene after the initial gunshots.
