FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A prominent Fort Wayne businessman passed away Tuesday at 70 years old.
Daniel "Danny" Rifkin died of leukemia. According to the obituary, the Fort Wayne native's career began at OmniSource, where he eventually became president and CEO. He was also a founder of Steel Dyn
amics and later founded MetalX.

"Scrap wasn’t just a profession for him; it was part of his identity," according to the obituary.
Rifkin was also a family man: a father, grandfather, brother and fiance.
"He leaves behind a legacy not only in the companies he helped shape, but in the family, he loved, and the countless lives he touched with his wisdom, generosity, and strong sense of purpose," the obituary reads.
