Afternoon high temperatures rose to around 60° in Fort Wayne this afternoon. Clouds increased during the day and we stay cloudy tonight.
Estimated rainfall from 6 PM Wed - 6 PM Thu.
The weather system that caused heavy rain and widespread strong and severe storms Wednesday night is making a c
omeback to bring us more rain/storms, at times, from tonight through Saturday. However, any storms will not be as strong as what we experienced last night.
The main worry, though, is for additional rounds of heavy rain that will increase the already high flood threat that exists. Over the next week, you can expect flooded areas to become more and more common, not only as we receive additional rain over the next few days, but as it drains into our rivers and streams a few days from now. Spots that typically flood likely will flood and some spots that don't usually flood, may end up flooded, too. Remember, if you are driving and encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find another route. Do not risk driving through the water.
Significant flood concerns exist across much of the region.
Skies remain mostly cloudy tonight with temperatures falling into the lower 40s. Some additional scattered rain showers are possible.
Tomorrow's forecast calls for a slightly cooler day with more periods of rain, and some occasional t-storms, through the day. Some moments of heavy rain are possible and the potential exists for a few strong, gusty storms to develop.
There's a chance our Friday rain ends up impacting the TinCaps opener at Parkview Field, which has a first pitch at 7:05 pm. However, there may be a rain-free window that will allow the team to, at least, get in a little Friday night baseball in.
Friday night's TinCaps forecast
We could see up to two inches+ of additional rainfall from now through Saturday night.
Expected rain from tonight through Saturday night
A colder weekend is ahead of us with temperatures in the low 50s on Saturday, falling to the upper 40s for highs on Sunday, after the passage of a cold front.
Monday's highs will bounce back to 50°, but both rain and snow showers will be possible.
