EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Are you an artsy person and "Star Wars" fan? The Las Cruces Public Libraries newest craft program, themed painting, will feature both this weekend. The City of Las Cruces said this program will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, in the Craft Room on the firs t floor of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Avenue. Early May always welcomes "Star Wars" week with "May the Fourth Be With You," and the department is inviting the community to the annual art show, where participants can choose to display their new "Star Wars" painting, the City said. The City said themed painting, which is free and open to all ages, is planned every other month from 1 to 5 p.m. on the first Saturday. In June, the theme will be Colors (in conjunction with our Summer Reading Program theme of Color Our World). And in August, participants will have a choice between Back to School and Dogs, or combine them, the City said. Participants can register here.
