NWS confirms EF0 tornado crossed into Fayette County

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado crossed into Fayette County early Thursday morning.
The tornado touched down at about 1:30 a.m. in Clinton County near Sabina with estimated peak winds of 85 mph, according to the NW

"The tornado appears to have first developed near SR-72, where a few power poles were knocked down," the NWS wrote in its preliminary report. "Two bars on Rhonemus Road had their roofs removed, and a silo was also destroyed."
Fayette County business hit hard by severe storm
A barn on Hornbeam Road was also destroyed, and multiple trees were snapped, the NWS confirmed. A single-family home also sustained roof and gutter damage.
The storm knocked down power poles along State Route 729 before it crossed into Fayette County, according to the NWS.
The tornado damaged the roof of a barn on Miami Trace Road. Trees along Snow Hill Road and Bunkerhill Glendon Road were also damaged.
A silo on Staunton Jasper Road was also damaged.
The tornado was on the ground for approximately eight miles and had a width of 350 yards, according to the NWS.
Officials are continuing to survey the damage, and preliminary information could change upon the National Weather Service's final review. ...read more read less
